Title: A mutational analysis of LSD1, a negative regulator of cell death in Arabidopsis thaliana

(Advisor: Jeff Dangl)

Gregory Tayrose

My project focuses on the interaction between a protein in Arabidopsis thaliana called LSD1, and two other proteins called LIN1 and AtTIP49a.  All of these proteins are involved in cell death and disease resistance.  I have created a library of mutated LSD1 to screen for loss of interaction with LIN1 and AtTIP49a.  We will put these LSD1 loss of interactor mutants into plants in order to examine the resulting phenotypes after pathogen inoculations especially as they relate to disease resistance and cell death.
