Research:
My research interests to date encompass two topics in plant community ecology - seed dispersal limitation and changes in relative abundance through space and time.

My interest in seed dispersal stems from observations of fragmentation patterns in the landscape. Depending on the dispersal abilities of different plant species and their tolerance for existence in the between-patch matrix, some species may experience the landscape as fragmented while other may not. My research would focus on the effects of dispersal barriers, such as roads and utility right-of-ways, on plant community composition in the remaining habitat patches.

I am also interested in patterns of relative abundance through space and time. I would like to examine forms of rarity and distribution patterns of plant species (abundance and range) and investigate the factors that may be driving changes in those patterns through both space and time.
