Visiting Foreign Scholar - Hung-Jui Sophia Shih, MS. UC Davis

Ms. Shih’s work focuses on looking at patterns of population genetic variation in Drosophila. She is currently focusing on the genetic changes underlying the evolution of octanoic acid and ethanol tolerance in D. sechellia and D. simulans. For her Master’s thesis she developed a prototype database for comparative analysis of Drosophila mitochondrial DNA.
