Welcome to the Corbin Jones Lab
Adaptations are central to the study of evolution. Surprisingly, we
know relatively little about the molecular basis of adaptive
evolution.A few key unsolved questions are: how important are
regulatory versus amino acid changes in adaptation? How does the
structure and organization of the genome affect how adaptations
evolve? How often are new genes involved in adaptations?
As no one system or approach can answer these questions, we are taking
an integrative and interdisciplinary approach to getting the answers we
need. Our approach includes genetic analyses of complex adaptive traits,
population genetic studies of nucleotide variation, and computational
and experimental comparisons of genomic data.
